Transform the Appearance of Nails

To make broad nails look narrower and short ones look longer, you should only make an effort to file them and to cover them with polish.

Rectangular nails should not be very long, and their tips should be made round. You should cover only their central parts with polish, the edges should not be polished.

Triangular nails are broader at their bottom than at their top. Therefore, their tips are filed into an oval shape. The broader lower parts are not polished.

Broad nails can be long, but their angles should be mildly rounded off. You can completely cover them with polish, if it won’t make them look too thick. Otherwise you are to cover only their central parts with polish.

Nails with small surfaces can be grown longer. But the nails’ tips should not be longer than the nail-beds; otherwise they will have the shape of a spade. Do not use dark polish, and polish only the nails’ central parts, leaving the edges unpolished.

Nails with long nail surfaces will look shorter in combination with long fingers, if you file them short and do not cover the nail lunula (white semicircle at the base of the nail bed) with polish.
