Waxing

Earlier, sticky honey treatments were used to yank the hair out of your skin. But today, modern parlors use soy based compounds which bond with hair only, and do not stick to your skin. Soy cream is applied to the skin and then covered with cloth strips. As the cream sets, the strip is removed, taking the unwanted hair with it. Because soy cream does not stick to the skin, it gives a gentler and kinder waxing, with less pain and damage to the skin. Waxing can be a great hair removal method for different parts of body, including arms, legs, armpits, back, and chest. Because your pores are left open after a waxing session, the procedure needs to be done under highly hygienic conditions.

Shaving

Shaving unwanted hair can be done with a straight edge or electric razor. This method does not remove hair from the roots, and does not cause any disturbance in the follicle. In order to minimize the problems due to shaving, make sure that your hair is completely wet, your skin is completely relaxed, you do not make repeated strokes and you shave in the direction of the hair growth only.

Depilatory creams

Chemical compounds in these creams are designed to dissolve the protein that makes up hair. This hair removal method is best applied to the face, legs, and arms.

Electrolysis

In this method, a fine needle is inserted into your hair follicle, and an electric current is applied to your roots. This process burns the roots of hair, thus preventing them from producing hair any more. In this method, each hair follicle is individually treated and you may need several sittings to destroy each and every follicle. Side effects may include keloid formation, pain, infection, hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation.

In addition to all these hair removal methods, laser treatment is another method in which laser light is emitted at varying wave lengths, pulse widths and energy outputs. But it can be an expensive procedure that might not be affordable for everybody. So, choose the hair removal option as per your skin type, time available, and budget.
