Beverages – Information on Beverages good and bad.
juice can almost help you more than a traditional anti-fever pill if you
have a high fever. But how can we make the right choice out of the numerous
beverages and choose the one that is tasty and at the same time rich in
vitamins?
So, juices:
Carrot juice. Supporters of healthy lifestyles consider carrot juice
to be almost the elixir of life. There is a certain amount of truth in
that. No other juice contains that much carotene. Besides, in carrot juice
there is cesium salt, phosphorus and iron that our body needs so much.
The juice improves appetite and digestion; it strengthens teeth and also
our nervous system; it extends the body’s resistance to different
infectious diseases, and it has no equal in increasing vitality. But it
is necessary to have it in small quantities and after consulting a doctor.
There have been cases when zealous fans of carrot juice, instead of becoming
pink cheeked, got that yellow color on their faces. Doctors call it “reversible
complexion pigmentation as a result of carotene overdose.”
Apricot juice. This juice is rich in potassium, which strengthens the
cardio muscle and doesn’t let excessive liquid linger on the tissues.
That is why it is highly recommended to have apricot juice if you have
cardiovascular diseases accompanied by edema. But diabetics and the obese
should be careful with apricot juice due to the high level of sugar content.
Orange juice. This juice is great in all weathers, but it is especially
valuable during cold winters due to the high content of vitamin C and
glycosides. Orange juice keeps you in tone, and rejuvenates and strengthens
blood vessels. That’s why doctors recommend having it for atherosclerosis
and hypertension. However, you’d better say no to orange juice if
you suffer from gastritis with acidity or ulcers. Being a low-calorie
product, orange juice is suitable for young ladies trying to lose weight.
Pineapple juice. Pineapple juice contains a unique natural substance
- bromeline, which is a perfect fat burner and rejuvenates the body. This
juice is also recommended as a medicine for kidney diseases and tonsillitis.
Tomato juice. There is a lot of ascorbic acid, iron and carotene in
tomato juice. At the same time, this product combines nutritious qualities
with being low calorie. There is almost no cellulose in this juice and
those suffering from alimentary organ diseases can easily include this
juice in their diet. Moreover, tomato juice heightens potency as it contains
lycopene. So make sure your soul mate has a glass before going to bed.
Apple juice. This one has almost all the qualities of all the juices
mentioned above. It is low calorie and it is useful for anemia since there
is a lot of iron in it. Besides, it has a miraculous power to turn out
renal calculus. Pectin acid, that apples contain, acts as absorbents and
purges the body of impurities. Apple juice is extremely useful for those
who have lung disease and often suffer from bronchitis, and it is also
necessary for chain smokers to have at least one glass of apple juice
per day, since it improves respiratory functioning.
Grape juice. This juice has a favorable affect on heart functioning,
preventing thrombus formation. It has been proven by recent research that
grape juice is even more effective in heart attack prophylaxis than aspirin.
Herbal teas – miraculous power of herbs.
Refreshing tonic phytoteas (tisanes) have entered our lives together
with the healthy lifestyle fashion. The French word “tisane”
now means a drink made from grass or any vegetative stuff - starting with
chamomile and finishing with a mix of exotic plants such as rosehip or
hibiscus. Though we call such beverages herbal teas, there is seldom a
tea leaf in them. As a rule, there is just a small amount of half-fermented
tea.
Phytoteas division into groups is quite relative. Depending on their
function, we can classify them into medicinal, prophylactic and “everyday;”
depending on the stuff used, herbal teas can be fruit, flower and mixed.
They are also distinguished according to the “directions”
- diabetic, children’s, common and ethnic. There are tisanes that
people have to maintain for the same stable weight - one such recipe made
of Indian lotus leaves and palm catechu leaves was invented by the Chinese
thousands of years ago. Some mixtures containing yohimbine tree bark contribute
to the high potency. The so-called “everyday” teas have some
tonic and restorative qualities. Of course, “everyday” tisane
efficiency cannot compete with medicinal teas, which are characterized
by striking therapeutic properties. However, it’s better to have
medicinal teas only after having consulted your doctor.
Miraculous power of herbs.
When choosing an herbal tea, it’s important not to base your choice
only on your gastronomic preferences (though they are essential too).
It is necessary to analyze the health-giving qualities of tisane and also
to find out if you are allergic to it.
