Piercing
your child some rules which will secure him if he is late:
- He must tell you where he is going and who with. Tell him that you’re
only worried about is his safety and if something wrong happens, even
if he is guilty he must call you. Or it must be done by a person whom
you both know and who knows where your child is so that you can pick
him up and bring him home. Say that if it’s necessary your child
may come home by taxi and you’ll pay for it. Be sure your child
knows some useful phone numbers and that he always has a phone card
or cell phone. Settle on the time he is to be home. He should be responsible
and respectful enough to come at that time. Tell him that he mustn’t
do anything if he is not sure it is good even if his friends pressure
him. He doesn’t need to explain himself to his friends; he has
a right to refuse to take part in activities he doesn’t like.
Explain to your child that his body belongs to him, and if he doesn’t
want anybody to touch his body he must refuse. Daughters should know
that they have a right to refuse if boys kiss and touch them and boys
have no right to force girls to “go further.” She mustn’t
believe him if he says that she has caused his passion.
- Your child must stay with other people and should never be out alone.
He must be true to his values if his friends do something he disapproves
of. In this case it’s better to stay with those who don’t
want to take part in such activity. A child must stay away from dark
streets, yards, parks and side streets. If it seems that something threatens
him, he must ask someone for help or run to a house with light. If somebody
tries to take something away from a child it’s better to hand
it over and not take a risk with a dangerous person. A child shouldn’t
hitch a ride and he shouldn’t get into the car of a stranger.
He must stay away from places where he may run into trouble such as
a sideshow park or low-standard cafes and bars.
Let your children be healthy and safe!
