Mommy’s Little Girl

have independent lives. To make the stress of separation easier, it is

recommended that mothers find new priorities in life. Because it’s

never too late to start doing things that you’ve always liked to

do: to travel, to grow flowers, to plant a garden, learning to dance,

learning to knit or sew, or going camping. The unmarried woman can enjoy

love affairs. When you are busy with your private life, you don’t

have time to be engaged in lives of other people. The problems appear

when the mother doesn’t have any private life or if she is an imperious

and prepotent woman. The daughters of these women are usually dependent

and infantile; they feel their defenselessness and failure very sharply

without their mothers.

Daughters and Marriage

It is often the case that patterns of the family repeat themselves from

generation to generation. For example, the great-grandmother loses her

husband in the war, the husband of the grandmother leaves her, the mother

divorces… Maybe the daughter won’t be happy getting married

– too often girls repeat the fate of their mothers. It’s all

because different family myths are passed on from generation to generation

in a family without men. If the mother was hurt by men or she just lacked

men’s attention, the girl is often intimidated by terrible stories

about maniacs or suggestions that men only “want one thing.”

However, there can be just the opposite variant: an ideal image of a non-existent

father can be created in the family, and other men are unable to compete

with this ideal. The stereotypes that were suggested during childhood

prevent the daughter from building normal relationships with men.

As a result, “the girl” of 40 years old sees a mixture of

a sexual maniac and a prince in each man, and she doesn’t know how

to communicate with him. And if something or somebody doesn’t help

her to change this programming, the unintentional scenario can be repeated

again and again.
