New Baby, New Parents, New Family: A Few Words of Advice
world. He learns to control and move his body. By one or two months the
baby will recognize relatives, but won’t react to strangers. By
three months, he begins to look at everything around him with curiosity.
He tries to grasp or touch close objects, because his hands, clenched
in fists before, are now unclenched. At first, the baby hesitates to make
these movements, and the child doesn’t accomplish his goal, but
with your help he will do it and will smile with you.
It should be noted that every baby has a unique personality, and he
wants to be treated well and with attention. Therefore, you should avoid
any act of violence or anger. A baby might develop quickly or slowly,
depending on several factors, including: heredity, birth process and the
nature of the baby. That’s why you should remember: you are an excellent
parent, and there’s nothing wrong if your child develops a little
slower than others (if it isn’t connected with a disease). He may
sit sooner than your neighbor’s baby, but perhaps his teeth come
in later. This isn’t important. Believe in yourselves and don’t
be afraid of problems! The main thing is to understand that mental development
depends mostly on surroundings and environment. Create a favorable atmosphere
in which kindness and mutual understanding dominate. This will help a
child to develop a pleasant personality. From the earliest moments of
your child’s life, take interest in him, exercise with him, help
him do things and take advantage of your time together. This will greatly
influence his development.
